Your Questions, Answered
SECTION 1 - THE SERVICE SUITE
-
E-Design is usually a package format delivered online and you implement at your pace. Full Scope is for multi-room / whole-home projects where you want a designer holding the thread end-to-end. This can be in-person or online, based on needs, location and preference.
-
Yes. E-Design is ideal for renter-friendly moves: layout, lighting, textiles, art placement, and upgrades that feel intentional without permanent changes.
-
No. Most clients don’t. We pull a clear direction from what you’re drawn to, what you already own, and how you want the space to feel day-to-day.
-
Absolutely. We’ll keep what works, edit what doesn’t, and fill the gaps so it feels cohesive.
-
Start with a free Define + Align Call — I’ll point you to the best next step (and tell you honestly if you’re better suited to E-Design or Full Scope).
SECTION 2 - E-DESIGN SERVICES
-
Photos, measurements, and a short brief on what’s not working + what you want it to feel like. Real life is fine — no pre-styling required.
-
It depends on the package, but the process is designed to be calm and efficient — you’ll always know the next step.
-
Yes. Your plan is tailored to your priorities and budget, with options that make sense for your life (not an imaginary Pinterest house).
-
Yes — you’ll receive a curated shopping list with direct links, plus layout and styling guidance.
-
Book a free 15 to 20 Minute Align + Define Call and I’ll recommend the best fit.
SECTION 3 - THE GRAND TOUR (FULL SCOPE)
-
Multi-room / whole-home projects, renovations, extensions, new builds, and spaces where cohesion matters across the home.
-
Where needed, I can liaise with your builder/trades to clarify design intent and specifications (fixtures, finishes, set-outs). Project management and trade coordination (scheduling, site supervision, delivery management and variations) are not included by default and can be added as an optional scope in your fixed-fee proposal.
-
In-person projects are available across Melbourne's inner suburbs and bayside (limited places per season) — see the full list of areas covered.
If you’re outside the in-person area, we can proceed online, or discuss travel (fees confirmed upfront).
-
Because it’s a real working session: we clarify scope, budget, timing, and the smartest next step — and the fee is credited toward your project if you proceed within 14 days (per studio policy) of your proposal being issued.
-
You receive a tailored proposal with scope, inclusions, fees, and timeline. Once approved, your project is booked into the Studio Halo & Fitz Calendar and you receive your Welcome Pack.
SECTION 4 - PROCESS, PAYMENT & LOGISTICS
-
Everything starts with an enquiry. Fill out the form and you'll hear back within 1 business day. From there, you'll either be pointed to the right E-Design package or invited to book a free 20-minute Align + Define call, depending on the scope of what you need.
-
E-Design packages start from $395. Full Scope Design (The Grand Tour) is quoted individually after a paid Discovery Call, because every home and brief is different — there's no honest "from" price that means anything until we've talked through your space, your priorities, and what you're actually trying to achieve.
-
E-Design packages are paid in full upfront. The Grand Tour is structured differently: a 50% deposit to begin, followed by two 25% instalments invoiced at set project stages — the first partway through the project, the second before final handover.
-
Every project starts with an enquiry, followed by either a package recommendation (E-Design) or an Align + Define call to confirm the right fit (Full Scope). From there, E-E-Design moves through a kickoff call, design development, and delivery within your package's timeframe. Full Scope moves through a paid Discovery Call, a custom proposal, and — once you're ready to proceed — a structured five-phase process from concept through to implementation support.

SECTION 5 - ABOUT THE STUDIO
-
Two ways of working: E-Design, which gives you a clear, room-by-room plan you implement yourself, available Australia-wide from $395; and Full Scope Design (The Grand Tour), a hands-on, end-to-end service for whole-home or multi-room projects, available in-person across St Kilda and inner Melbourne, or online anywhere in Australia. Both start with understanding what you actually need before recommending where to begin.
-
Most designers start with a style questionnaire. This studio starts with your story — the pieces you already own, the way you actually live, the moment that made you ready to do something about your home. That comes from founder Kathryn Farrell's own background living and working across six countries, which means the references are never generic — they're specific, lived, and grounded in something real. The result is a home that feels like a continuation of your life, not a showroom.
-
The fastest way in is the Enquiry Form — you'll hear back within 1 business days. If you're considering E-Design or a Full Scope Design service, you can also book a free 20-minute Align + Define Call directlyon the website. For general questions, email hello@haloandfitz.com.au.
I’ll be happy to hear from you, whichever communication channel you choose first. -
Considered, not chaotic. You'll never feel judged for where you're starting from, and you won't be sold a "look" before anyone's understood the brief. Expect clear structure, honest pacing, and a process that holds your hand without holding you back — whether that's a single room through E-Design or a whole home through The Grand Tour.
